Uninstalling is divided into separate steps for several reasons. This article describes what you need to do to uninstall successfully.

Uninstalling a ScriptServer website

A ScriptServer web site consists of the following parts which all needs to be removed manually:

  • An MS IIS Website and IIS Application Pool
  • A file directory
  • Some registry entries
  • A database

Note that you should not remove anything else manually than described here. Running the uninstaller will remove all shared files and components in an orderly fashion.

Removing the IIS Web site

Use the IIS Manager found in the Administrative Tools to remove the website(s) and application pools associated with the web site you are uninstalling

Removing the File Directory

Each ScriptServer website stores its files and images in a separate file directory, usually located in c:\scriptserver\files\TheSiteName

Removing the registry entries

Using RegEdit, you should be able to locate a registry branch for each ScriptServer web site in the following branch:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dimac\ScriptServer 2.0\Base\Kernel\Applications
You will also find each web site's data connection in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dimac\objectstore\connections

Removing the database

Use MS SQL Server Enterprise Manager to delete the database and the 2 logins associated with it.

Uninstalling the ScriptServer runtime components

All ScriptServer websites on a web server uses the same components. These should be uninstalled through the Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs. The uninstaller will unregister and remove the following:

  • ScriptServer components
  • Shared ScriptServer Registry entries
  • Shared files in c:\scriptserver
  • Manage My ScriptServer tools

Note that you should NOT uninstall the ScriptServer runtime components if you only wish to remove a single ScriptServer website.

If you unintentionally remove the ScriptServer runtime components you can re-install them from your ScriptServer CD without losing any ScriptServer site information.
